1 person is missing and feared dead after torrential rains from Kate slammed several inland communities….
The  Famous CA Lotto Mega Millions Jackpot Winners ‘The Oak Glen Steakhouse & Saloon’ where our Karaoke Club met every Thursday In the years before Covid with our legendary KJ Greg Grisafe, was heavily damaged in the fourth day of storms to hit the Inland Empire since Hurricane Kay’s remnants parked itself off the northern Baja California Coast on Friday...
Both Forest Falls and Oak Glen, about 7 miles from our home here in Yucaipa, we’re hit hard by the storms, with many homes and business damaged or destroyed after the horrible wildfires of 2020, during the heart of the Covid lockdowns…Several roads in the area were also closed by mudslides…Local photos showed mud flows entering through the back side of the facility, and then coming all the way through to the front side, with mud up to several feet deep in places….Landslide and mudflow disasters are not covered by most business and homeowners insurance here in California, you must buy separate policies to cover that type of loss here, it’s not known if the Knudsen’s had that type of insurance…
Rick and Lori Knudsen had built the properties, That included the Restaurants , a Buffalo Ranch, and the Main mansion up on the mountain, after winning a $180M Jackpot in the California Mega Millions Lottery in August of 2014 on a $5 ticket…The family home had been listed for sale at $26M in late 2018, With the sudden move due to their son Ricky’s heart condition, which required him to ‘move to a lower elevation’…At the time of todays tragedy, the family mansion had never sold, and was now at Auction with no reserve, set to end in four days, with the high bid currently at only $2.7M…In a very emotional video on the Oak Glen Saloon’s Facebook Page, A son said the restaurant was closed ‘Indefinitely’, but he vowed to re-build…Prayers for the Rick & Lori Knudsen family, and to the Oak Glen community, this is a devastating loss…Photos from local sources as forwarded to me by Serina Cruz…
